Filmaker Max Thurlow received a Ramsgate 'Pride in Place' Bringing it to Life grant to create a series of films about five 'local heroes' who are making Ramsgate a better place to live. After receiving an amazing 188 recommendations from locals on Facebook, he selected Teresa Askew of Great British Carnival as one of his interviewees.

These conversations showcase the best of Ramsgate Town's vibrant community and aim to foster local pride in one of the most deprived towns in the South East. We were thrilled that Teresa was included and hope you enjoy hearing what she and the others had to say.  Each interview ​ starts with one question: 'Why Ramsgate?'.
